My Winter Cold & Flu Kit
I use the Vicks First Defence as soon as I start to feel a tingle in my throat or when my nose starts becoming stuffy. This helps to kill the virus before it spreads and helps to prevent getting a full on case of the flu.
I use the Olbas oil as a way to try and unblock my nose, I put a couple of drops on a tissue and leave near my bed at night to help me breathe.
I also use Vicks VapoRub on my chest to do the same thing, the vapours help to unblock your nose and make it easier to breathe.
I am forever getting tonsillitis and strangely enough I've now had it two summers in a row, such a weirdo. I always have lozenges to help soothe my throat when I am ill.
Berocca is great for replacing vitamin D and fluids when you are sick (you just pop one in a cup of water), although I must admit I do prefer to just drink a big glass of OJ instead. But these taste great and can boost you up a bit when you feel run down.
I have heard people swear by Echinacea for colds & flus so I picked up a box of the tablets. This brand also does a bottle of drops which you add to water but I find just taking a pill much easier.
I also always use the standard pharmacy/drug store tablets because they contain paracetamol to help ease the pain of a headache and they also help with the fever and cold sweats.
Hopefully none of you experience a cold or flu like I do, it totally knocks me off my feet for at least a week. So stay healthy in the colder months and take care of yourself :) let me know if you guys have your own remedies and tell me what works for you.
Later skaters
Love S xoxo
