Get Well Soon

I've had a pretty dodgy ankle ever since I hurt it really bad when I was 17. I played netball for years and one day I went over on it. I tore ligaments and tendons & it has always played up ever since but when I was at camp I never expected to end up in the emergency room at the hospital. It was maybe like the 3rd week of camp and we were at our daily tennis lesson. I was helping to throw the tennis balls for the girls. One camper hit the ball really high so I jumped up to grab it, as I came back down my ankle just gave way and I fell to the ground. The tennis instructor ran over and told me he heard it pop, I was in so much pain I physically couldn't move. They radioed for the camp nurse to come down and she helped me to the nurses station. I could put no pressure on my foot at all so I literally hopped the whole way there, up steps and across the whole length of the camp pretty much.

I was crying with pain at this point and felt so sick because I thought it was broken. I have always been so funny about people touching that particular foot ever since I hurt it the first time so you can imagine the anxiety I was feeling. With much hesitation, the nurse finally had to take my trainer (sneaker) off and my foot was sitting at a weird angle, like it was just completely bent to the right. It had swollen up to the size of a tennis ball (ironically) and I couldn't move my foot at all or wiggle my toes. Anyways, I went to the hospital, got an x-ray and thank goodness it wasn't broken, just really badly sprained. I was super nervous about it being broken because I feared that I would then be unable to work at camp and therefore be sent home. I had to take the next two days off from camp and rest. While I was totally bored and alone in my cabin (I can't sit still let alone rest my foot up all day), some of my amazing campers made me some cards which cheered me right up and made me smile. I just wanted to share them because they are far too cute and really sweet.
