Being A Kid In The 90's
Lucky for me I was born in 1989 so I can always say that I was born in the 80's but I am also a 90's kid. These were the days of playing outside with your friends, not stuck inside on your xbox or on Facebook. I decided to do this post as I am feeling very nostalgic today and wanted to remember some things from my childhood.
TV shows
Art Attack was literally the coolest show because you loved how creative and artistic it was, you always tried to copy something Neil had done obviously resulting in you making a huge mess.
Pokémon
SM:tv Live
Live & Kicking
Get Your Own Back
The Crystal Maze
Rugrats
Round The Twist
Are You Afraid Of The Dark?
Goosebumps
The Queen's Nose
Sabrina The Teenage Witch
Social Media
Before smart phones and being able to do absolutely everything from your phone (buying online, taking pictures, recording TV programmes) there was snake!!!
I literally could have played this game for hours, it was so addictive. Of course I was playing it on my very cool and hip Nokia 3310.
Before the days of Facebook, I remember running home from school to talk to my crush & my friends on MSN. This was before wireless and we had the dial up internet at home so mum would always cut me off to use the phone.
Games & Toys
Street Fighter game on the play station.
Furby
Fun Fax diary
Yo-yos
Tamagotchi
Millennium babies which were these little rubber aliens in goo which were supposed to grow in the Millennium.
Super Mario Brothers

ReplyDeleteI KNOW!!! I totally loved mine, I thought I was the bee's knees like lol! Love S xoxo
DeleteThis is a ridiculously nostalgic post. I was born in 1986 so the 90s are a very memorable time for me. I had a fun fax and it was like a gold bar to me, it was soooo precious! And The Queens Nose was an amazing series. Thanks for this it's made my day x
ReplyDeleteI was just feeling so nostalgic and hoped that it would make people remember their childhood so I'm glad it did :)
DeleteAwk thanks :) you made my day by commenting :)
Love S xoxo
This is such a great post! I used to love so many of these things! The queen's nose used to be my absolute favourite TV show!
ReplyDeleteHow much did you wish you had that coin as a kid? And I was definitely one of those children who tried to rub it every time I had a 50p lol! Love S xoxo
DeleteThis is such a fab post! Loved the queens nose! Do you remember the furry diaries & pens everyone seemed to have? And Sunny D?
ReplyDeleteXx
OMG I was obsessed with those furry pens, you used to just tickle everyone in class with them!! And yes Sunny D was my fav, were you a California or Florida girl? I'll add both of those in my list :) thanks for the ideas! Love S xoxo

DeleteI love this post! I can relate to everything on it, it's brilliant! Makes me feel so nostalgic. Msn was always the place to chat to your crush and put little love hearts in your name haha! The good old 90's

YES! As I was scrolling through I was like ah ya, YES!, of course, mmhmm, haha oh nostalgia
ReplyDeleteWasn't Art Attack just amazing?! It was one of my favourites - I was so excited to watch it (and his extra big art projects - SO good!!) Snake too on the phone - it was so simple and amusing - held your attention just long enough, not like how some ppl can spend like 4 hours on apps nowadays - you'd play snake for a little while then move on and play again later for a bit (at minutes, not hours, at a time haha)
Furry pens, mr. sketch scented markers and gel pens were so cool too lol and big mr. freezes were one of the best summer treats!
Ahh yes, the 90s, good times, good times :)
