Blackfish

Even as a kid, I loved watching documentaries with my dad. I really enjoy learning new facts and finding out information about different things is very interesting to me. I enjoy watching all types from periods of history to profiles on psychopaths to wild life. Anything narrated by David Attenborough I will most definitely watch. I recently came across a documentary film called Blackfish, based on killer whales in captivity and how this can affect their well-being.
The documentary really hit home for me, luckily I have never been to SeaWorld or any place that captures animals just for the amusement of people. Safe to say I will probably never visit a zoo again. Visit the website, watch the trailer and then watch the documentary. It made me incredibly sad and has encouraged me to start signing all different types of animal protection petitions.

There is also a documentary called The Cove which you should also check it. Honestly, anything I watch where a poor innocent animal gets hurt or is just miserable, really gets to me. A couple of years ago I was on Facebook late one night because I couldn't sleep, I came across this video one of my friends had posted. I clicked play and I seriously regret ever doing that. It was a video made by an anti-fur organisation, showing in graphic detail defenceless animals being killed for their fur. More disturbingly, some were even skinned alive. I honestly have never felt so sick to my stomach that this actually goes on in the world. How can people be so heartless? I burst into tears and could not stop shaking. I actually had to go and wake up my sister because I was so emotionally affected by the video. It was so heart-breaking and it made me so sad and angry at the same time. What made me even more upset was that these camera men just filmed this, they didn't stop it. I understand that they probably couldn't but oh my goodness, it would kill me to have to film something like that.

I am the biggest animal lover and can not even begin to comprehend how people can treat animals so cruelly. If you have a heart, please research and see if you can find any petitions that you can find whether it's to try and stop the sell of fur or anything else that will benefit the lives of our wildlife. No wonder animals are so endangered, we are killing them for our fashionable desires. I don't understand why someone would want to wear fur anyways, knowing where it has came from or what was done for them to be able to hang it in their wardrobe, disgusting.

Sorry for such a morbid and depressing post guys but I just feel SO strongly about animal protection and that I would try and spread the word. For those of you who have pets at home, just remember that even dogs and cats in certain countries are used for their fur. Please help me support some charities and organisations that work so hard to protect our animals. If you guys have a spare few pounds, maybe think about donating to a worthy cause rather than getting a new lipgloss which you don't really need. I have began to be a bit more selfless with my money and try to donate to charities that I love and really believe in.

Later skaters
Love S xoxo

  1. when the demand stops, the killing will too.. but recently australia has won a fight for the whales. Now japanese can't hunt them for 'research' anymore. this should cheer you up a bit?
