Vegan/Healthy Alternatives

*Although I would love to be able to have the time & money to make my meals from scratch, sadly with a full time job that is simply just not the case*
*I also try to buy organic products, again this sometimes is just not that easy so I make do with what I can get or already have*

The transition from meat & dairy eater wasn't as hard as I thought, I just did a lot of research and found so many alternatives. Not only am I on a vegan diet, but I trying to eat more organic and healthy foods.
I thought I would just share some of my food staples with you guys to show you how easy this lifestyle can be.
Let's talk about Tesco first of all, not only do they have a range called Free From which is gluten & wheat free but they also have dairy free products. On their website they don't just list their own brand but other brands, there are over 450 products so have a look for yourself here.

I love unsweetened almond milk and usually buy the brand Alpro, I also like their organic soy milk. Alpro offer a lot of alternatives, not just milk, but also yogurt, cream and flavoured dessert puddings. A product list can be found here.

Violife have a huge range of dairy-free cheese & cream cheese, check them out here.

Agave nectar is a great alternative to honey and can be used to sweeten things like juices, baked goods and in cereals - Greens Organic, H&B(The Groovy Food Company)

Sabra makes an amazing garlic with red pepper houmous and I really wish they would make a caramelised onion one.
Salca have no released two pestos in their free from range to include basil and also tomato.

Meridian have a lot of nut butters & a tahini which have no added oils and also jams with no added sugars. Holland & Barrett and most supermarkets I think now sell them, check out H&B's list of products here.

Kallo's rice cakes are great for snacks with some kind of spread or even just broken up and dipped in.

Biona do quite a lot in their range from rice cakes, to almond butter, to pasta.

Rude health have a range which includes milks, rice, breakfast cereals.

Rebel Kitchen have a range of flavoured milks which just sounds amazing because I usually order a chai tea frappuccino from Starbucks and RK offers a chai flavour.

I actually like the taste of wholegrain rice so changing over wasn't too bad. Uncle Ben's have got a new range of express rice which includes wholegrain rice & quiona and 5 whole grains. I have never cooked quiona before so I am enjoying these until I try to learn.

I am not a massive fan of dried fruit and most health bars contain them but I thought I would mention Nakd anyway because they offer such a huge range of snacks.

Himalayan rock salt

Any other ideas please share them in the comments :)

Later skaters
Love S xoxo
