Acne Remedies

I have dealt with terrible terrible acne since I was around 12 years old. Having been quite embarrassed by my spots as a teenager, I just wanted to get rid of them so I popped them. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! I am now left with scars and pockmarks which of course are not very attractive at all. The majority of the time I am able to hid my acne and marks by makeup but there are some days I just wish I could be bare faced and not try to hide away. And by wearing makeup you are just adding more to your skin to clog it up, vicious circle right?

I am now 24 and I still get spots, thank goodness not as bad as when I was a teenager but I am very self conscious about them. I would never dream about going out of the house without makeup on and my family & boyfriend (lucky him....) are the one people to really ever see me without any.

So after reading a few blog posts and watching some Youtube videos, I have heard that evening primrose oil tablets are supposed to be fabulous for calming down hormonal acne.

After reading Zoella's post about ReGen cream I have decided to also purchase this with my next paycheck and wish for the best regarding my scarring.

This blogspot has some wonderful ideas and I shall be borrowing some of the recipes for homemade face masks. They also mention that Aloe Vera gel and Tea Tree Oil are really good for treating acne.

I will use both of these products for a while and will write a review on what I think about them and if they actually really work, I will keep yous posted!!!

Do you guys have any other acne treatments that have helped yous? Or know of any which have helped other people?

I am also looking for what sort of moisturiser and toner etc are the best, high street/drug store prices. Much appreciated :)

  1. Hey Stephy!

Here is my experience with acnes... I personally had no problems with skin during my teenage years. But now when I'm in my mid 20 acne appeared. For a long time nothing helped me. But lately I started using Aloe vera gel (as u mentioned). Twice a day (morning and evening) I use a normal cleaning gel for oily skin and then I put on aloe vera. In about 2 weeks my skin got like 50 % better. So to anybody who is reading this I would personaly recomend to try out aloe vera. It's also quite natural compared to other products out there.

    Take care

    xo,

    Kristi

  7. I began to experience a lot of acne & skin sensitivity after my teenage years! & being twenty-something with acne was not fun! All through college, I was annoyed by my skin! After trying dozens of over the counter products, changing my diet, & seeing a dermatologist... My acne 'settled down', but I still did not have the nearly flawless face I wanted! Now I use a lot of vegan beauty products which have proven to work for me! I will have to give the primrose a try!
