Guttate Psoriasis
A few Christmas's ago, I got tonsillitis. Ever since I was younger I reckon I had tonsillitis roughly twice ever year. For some strange reason my GP never suggested that I should get them taken out, even though my younger sister actually had hers removed. About a month or two later, my sister and I were in the living room watching a film together. I was too warm so I took off the hoodie I was wearing, as I removed my sister asked what was wrong with my arm. I took a look in our mirror and noticed what looked like a rash. It was just like little red dots and they looked quite irritated and dry. We turned on the big light and discovered it all over my upper body; my arms, legs, tummy and back.
I had chicken pox as a child but panicked as it looked very similar. I called my dad and he took me to the out of hours GP. They told me it wasn't chicken pox thankfully and that I would need to see a skin specialist to determine what it actually is. So I booked an appointment with my GP and seen the dermatologist. She asked me if I had recently had a throat infection to which I told her about getting tonsillitis. She then informed me that I had a special form of psoriasis called guttate. It usually occurs when you have had a streptococcal infection.
She prescribed some creams for me and the only one I have found to work is a thick gel called Dovobet. I just smear in onto the effected areas, which now a days is only a little bit of dry skin on my arms, and leave it for about 20 minutes before putting on anything that covers my arms.

This is me just out of the shower, it seems to go bright red with the heat.
