Be Happy, In Every Way Possible
Recently I have been trying to eat healthier and as much as I actually do love vegetables anyway, this girl just loves a dirty take-away. I will not turn down a pizza from Dominos or ordering a chinese, I am trying to avoid these however.
I am just not happy at all with not so much my weight, more so my body and how it looks. I don't believe in focusing on how much you weigh or how many pounds or stone you want to lose. I believe you should focus on say your dress size and how you would like your body to look. Weight is just a number and we all know that even if you lose a certain amount, you still might not be happy with a certain part of your body like your tummy or your legs. We can't really control where we lose weight on our bodies. I think we should be more concerned about how comfortable you are and feel. If you are happy with how you are then great :) you are part of a very lucky minority of girls and that is awesome!
I just unfortunately am unhappy with my body and I want to start eating healthy and exercising because I want to change it.
We all shoud feel happy about ourselves but the sad reality is that most of us aren't. Mostly all of us have insecurities and feel self consious about different things. It could be your body shape, how big your boobs are, your hair, your smile, the list just goes on really.
Not everyone fits a certain sterotype or ticks a certain box which has unfortunately been created by our society. We are different, we should embrace that as much as we can, but we do have the power to change the way we look if that is really what we want to do.

Us girls tend to envy other girls and women who we feel are perfect. No-one is perfect. Even the most gorgeous models and celebrities will feel like they don't like something about themselves. Look at how many celebs have had plastic surgery or botox etc. They are constantly critised and cretiqued about their image and fashion sense and life choices, but so are we. We all feel social pressures, whether it comes from our friendship groups or other girls at school, in work, at church or in any other part of our lives. We always compare ourselves to everybody else and never stop to think that maybe, just maybe the perfect girl we idolise or are jealous of, might just be feeling the same way about other girls or even you.

This might sound like I am contradicting myself, I do want everybody to be with happy with who they are and love themselves. But if you are really unhappy and it is affecting you massively emotionally or mentally then I don't see the harm in wanting to change. I don't want young girls to think that boob jobs or unhealthy ways of losing weight are completely ok, they aren't most of the time and they come with a lot of risks. I am not encouraging anybody to under go surgery or make drastic decisions. We should all TRY to appreciate the body, the face etc that we have been born with. Take people with disabilities for example, I know so many who don't let their disability hold them back. They have accepted that this is how they have been born and they deal with it. They really are some of the most confident, self-assured, positive, optismistic and happy people. So I would like to say that you should try and find that confidence and self loving before you decide to do anything to your body.
I know that we should just be happy with how we are but sometimes sadly that is just not the case. If you are unhappy with something about your life then why shouldn't you try to change it? Why shouldn't you try to make yourself happy? If someone is not happy in a job then shouldn't they try to find one that they love and actually enjoy?
I believe in change, I believe in living your life the way you want to live it. I don't however agree to stepping on peoples toes to get to where you want to be but if your choices don't effect others negatively then why the heck not!!! I understand that in certain circumstances people find it hard to change their lives but nothing is ever impossible or too late. We all fall into routine and a comfort zone which we can find hard to break out of but just try not to be afraid. Making yourself happy is the most important thing, I know people have kids and of course their children come first but won't your kids be happier in turn if you are?
We can be role models, we can show others that it is ok to not be 100% content about certain things but that we aren't going to give up or stop trying. We are in charge of our lives, our bodies, our future. So take that into your own hands, it is your responsability. Be strong, be brave and take control of what is yours.
Later skaters
Love S xoxo
